Beta Player Feedback

No printing. Just vibes + clues.

We literally opened a case and started poking around in like 30 seconds. No PDFs. No 47-page host guide. Bless whoever decided to kill the printer drama.

Feels like an actual evidence wall

The board got messy (in a good way). Timelines, suspect stuff, little clue cards popping open—chef's kiss. My friend said, 'I feel like the over-caffeinated detective in a show.' Accurate.

Beta rough edges but I'm hooked

Some panels are a bit 'coming soon' but chasing the threads was legit fun. We argued about a receipt for 15 straight minutes. Needed snacks. Worth it.

Zero prep. Maximum drama.

Invited people over. Opened a case after dessert. Everyone instantly suspicious of literally everyone. I barely 'hosted'. 10/10 lazy GM experience.

Replay totally works if you narrate

Already solved it, came back as the 'ghost narrator' guiding new players. Watching them chase the wrong lead? Pure entertainment.

Group brain mode activated

We all huddled around my monitor like it was a forbidden artifact. Digital layout keeps the chaos contained vs paper piles. My table is thankful.

It's FREE?? Okay then

Beta being totally free feels kind of outrageous. I'm mentally ready to throw money at premium stuff when it lands ngl.

Need multi-device sync asap

Screen sharing works but I want everyone clicking around in real time like gremlins. Devs, I believe in you. Make the chaos scalable.

Accidentally stayed up late

Case said '1–2 hours'. We took 3 because we overthought everything and someone made a suspect spreadsheet. Zero regrets though.

UI mostly smooth, one hiccup

Had a clue load kinda slow once; we mocked it and moved on. Otherwise buttery. Dark mode supremacy.

Her Shadow's Name

HorrorMissing1-2 PlayersHigh Difficulty

In the secluded, fog-choked town of Black Creek, Maine, some secrets are woven into the very wood and stone. On October 28th, Eleanor Vance, Age 24, disappeared. Her last location was 412 Hemlock Lane—a house heavy with its own history—where her grandmother, Edith Vance, maintained that Eleanor simply left. The front door was found unlocked. Her keys and wallet were on the counter. The only item missing: Eleanor's private journal. Days later, it was found near the old Black Creek Bridge. Its pages were not the record of a sane mind, but a chilling testament to a descent into shared madness: > ...the calls come after three. He never speaks my name. Only hers. > The local report cites "severe isolation and self-induced psychosis," pointing to Ellie's obsession with the single, whispered word in her diary: Cora. Yet, in Black Creek, a name is never just a name. It is a promise. It is a warning. Eleanor Vance's body was never recovered. The file is closed. But if you look closely at the faded photographs and the scribbled entries, you have to ask: Did Eleanor wander off? Or did she answer the call of her shadow's name?

FAQ

It's a digital sleuthing platform where you and your friends investigate interactive cold case files directly in your browser—no PDFs, no printing, just pure detective work.
Yes! You're using the open beta. That means features are still evolving, some panels may feel bare, and we're actively gathering feedback before full launch.
Instead of hosting with printed packets, everything—objectives, evidence, timelines, suspects—is structured as dynamic panels you explore and unlock digitally. It's built for easier sharing, faster setup, and replay hosting.
Yep. During beta all available cases are 100% free to play. Paid cases, add‑ons, and premium features will roll out after we stabilize core gameplay.
Not yet. Downloads and purchase flows are disabled in beta. Your progress lives in the app. A marketplace + optional printable bundles are planned post‑beta.
Pick a cold case from the Cases page, open its board, and dive into objectives and evidence. You can collaborate live by sharing your screen or playing side‑by‑side. Multiplayer accounts and synced sessions are coming later.
You can absolutely host or guide new players through the same case again. If you've already solved it, the core culprit won't change—so it's best to take a facilitator role on replays.
Most current beta cases take 1–2 hours for focused groups; casual play or thorough clue combing can stretch to ~2–3. Feel free to pause—your progress persists locally.
Just a modern browser and a reasonably sized screen. Mobile optimization is underway; desktop/laptop gives the best experience right now.
Head to the Roadmap section to see what's coming and drop feedback. We're prioritizing based on player input during beta.
IDEAS

Help shape our next mysteries.
